Looking at Ville Savimaas’ Illustration, I cannot but think of icing and chocolate. But his images are anything but sweet. Within the fluffy and the colourful you may find twists and grotesques, which make the rich images even richer. We are very happy that the Finnish artist joined us for an interview in the vitrine.

Try your chances at the BP Portrait Award 2012. The first prize is the big number twentyfivethousand pounds, the entry fee is 34 pounds. Host is the National Portrait Gallery, home of over 160.000 Portraits from the 16th Century till today. Open for everyone over 18 years, the competition is limited to one entry per artist. Chris Sickles’ work has a very unique signature and is one of the best examples of storytelling in illustration. He incorporates a lot of character into his figures and creates magical worlds with great love of detail and depth. I am both happy and proud to interview him in The Vitrine.
